Minnesota’s appellate court has upheld the state public utility commission’s approval of the Line 3 pipeline project. It was a 2-1 vote for the three-judge panel. Enbridge is replacing the existing Line 3 pipeline, which was built over 50 years ago. This project has been the source of ongoing protests by Native Americans and environmental activists. That includes a demonstration earlier this month that resulted in the arrest of more than 200 people.
