Minnesota Representative Michelle Fischbach supports infrastructure
legislation, but believes in a focused approach. “I want to make sure that when we’re spending money on infrastructure it is real infrastructure like roads and bridges.” Fischbach says there are still funds from the previous COVID assistance bills that have not been utilized and the dollars that went out should have been more focused. “One issue that comes up quite a bit with that COVID relief is the $300 being paid in addition to unemployment and a lot of farmers and business people I talk to see that as a part of the problem in filling unfilled jobs.” Fischbach met with agricultural stakeholders this past week in Crookston and Willmar. The topics addressed discussed at those meetings include labor, crop insurance and broadband.
