The grain market continues to benefit from general buying. AgriSompo North America market analyst Sterling Smith says dry and hot weather is the big driver, but demand is a factor, too. “Old crop export sales also helped us out along with a general risk-on attitude.” Macro market factors are also a factor. “Unemployment numbers were better than expected. This can promote buying a lot of buying across different asset classes and the grain markets can be a benefactor of that.”
