The markets are closed on Monday, due to Memorial Day. When markets reopen, U.S. weather and crop conditions are expected to weigh on the grain market movement. “We’ll have USDA’s Weekly Crop Progress report on Tuesday at 3 p.m. We are expecting, for the most part, U.S. farmers to be done with planting and ratings are expected to be some of the best in years,” said Naomi Blohm, senior market advisor, Total Farm Marketing. “You would think that would keep a lid on prices in the short-term, but then, when you look at the bigger picture, there’s still tight ending stocks. That’s why there’s so much market volatility. There’s a lot to unfold yet this summer.”
