World Weather Incorporated Senior Ag Meteorologist Drew Lerner says the Northern Plains didn’t get as much rain as he expected in May. “We finished the month better but I was hoping we’d get started in this pattern earlier,” says Lerner. The cool air this spring kept the jet stream to the south and the region missed out on the rain. June should have a favorable environment for moisture. “The more rain we put back into the ground between now and July, the better off we’ll be in the long-haul.” Hear the latest forecast.
