The USDA released a “climate smart” agriculture strategy on Thursday. President Joe Biden requested the 90-day progress report from the USDA in his first few weeks in office. The report features seven elements, focusing on developing a strategy that works for all and supports new and better markets. The Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry Strategy also says the USDA will continue to encourage carbon reduction and sequestration, make investments in rural broadband and support the growth of the U.S. biofuels sector.
