To balance the budget, a conservative House caucus is calling for $14 trillion in spending cuts over the next ten years. For agriculture, the proposal would eliminate the Price Loss Coverage and Agriculture Risk Coverage programs. It phases out the sugar program and eliminates the dairy program. The RSC budget reduces the government’s support for crop insurance and would not allow new enrollments in the Conservation Reserve Program. This proposal was released one week before the White House releases its budget plan.
