Brazilian crop supply agency CONAB lowered its corn and soybean production estimates in its May report. CONAB says Brazilian farmers produced a record 135.4 million metric tons of soybeans this season. That’s down from the previous estimate of 135.5 million tonnes, but well above the 2019-2020 record production of 124.8 million tonnes. CONAB is estimating second crop corn production at 79.8 million tonnes, down 2.8 million tonnes from the April estimate. Brazil’s total corn production is estimated at 106.4 million tonnes, down from the previous estimate of 109 million tonnes.
