The Bayer Group wrapped up the first quarter with net income of $2.5 billion. That’s up four percent from the same quarter last year. Sales for the Bayer Crop Science division rose 6.4 percent. Global herbicide sales increased more than 13 percent. Fungicide sales improved more than 22 percent. A three percent increase in soybean seed and trait sales was driven by Bayer’s North American operations.
