At a virtual event organized by the Financial Times, U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai said she will soon meet with her Chinese counterparts to discuss the phase one trade deal. This trade agreement, which expires at the end of this year, calls for China to increase purchases of U.S. products by $200 billion over two years. When asked about future trade agreements, Tai emphasized flexibility and said there are other ways to enhance trade.
