Over 350 agriculture groups have signed off on a letter to congressional leadership about the importance of agricultural research, education, Extension and innovation. In particular, these groups are asking lawmakers to include $11.5 billion in funding for federal ag research infrastructure at land-grant colleges over the next five years. In addition to national organizations, numerous regional farm groups are part of this effort. That list includes the Minnesota AgriGrowth Council, the North Dakota Crop Improvement Association and the South Dakota Association of Cooperatives.
