A new hybrid fungicide is available to sugarbeet growers this year called REGEV, protecting the crop from cercospora and powdery mildew. SummitAgro USA Research and Development Manager Eric Tedford says this tool is a combination of a biological and conventional chemistry. “The biological component is tea tree oil and it is mixed with defenoconazole which is a tried and true triazole. One of the advantages of tea tree oil is the several components that that kill pathogens in many ways so it kills both fungal and bacterial diseases, which is very unusual.”
