American Crystal Sugar Company sugarbeet growers are at the halfway point for planting. General agronomist Joe Hastings expects quick planting progress going forward. “Right now, if it’s fit to go, you plant. It will warm up and it’s the end of May. Right now, get things seeded.” Hastings reminds farmers about their weed control programs and above all, be safe. “If you have pre-emergent herbicides, get those on. We are hitting the period where frost is coming out of the ground. For the most part, there’s been good planting progress.”
