Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative sugarbeet growers are about half done planting. Vice President of Agriculture Mike Metzger says some of the earliest planted beets are just starting to emerge. “The co-op got about 8,000 acres in early. That’s emerged and even where there are gaps, the plants still look healthy. Beets always amaze me. They’re an incredibly resilient crop.”
