The omnibus ag finance bill passed the Minnesota House. Minnesota Corn Growers Association Public Policy Director Amanda Bilek says the bill would boost ethanol blends. “In the House agriculture omnibus finance bill is $2 million per year in funding proposed for biofuels infrastructure. This is a recommendation from the Governor’s Council on Biofuels. This was included in the governor’s proposed budget.” Bilek says a conference committee will need to be appointed to work through the differences of the bills. “Then, the other piece that needs to happen is legislative leadership and Governor Walz need to reach a global budget deal agreement to what will be the overall numbers for the next two year budget for the state and breaking that down by the various committees or agencies of jurisdiction.”
