March milk production in the 24 leading dairy states rose two percent. Nationwide, South Dakota had the biggest increase in production, up 13.4 percent from one year ago. South Dakota dairy farms added 18,000 cows to the herd in the past year. Minnesota milk production is up nearly eight percent with the year-over-year addition of 17,000 cows.
