Standard Grain President Joe Vaclavik thinks end-users are having trouble sourcing corn and soybeans . “I think some ethanol plants are having issues securing corn right now and that’s part of the reason for the basis push. Ethanol prices shot higher. We’re up 15 cents a gallon or more in ethanol prices.” Ethanol demand continues to be good. “Ethanol stocks are at their lowest level seen in six to seven years, whereas ethanol production is lackluster.”
