Farm Service Agency Administrator Zach Ducheneaux said the latest updates in the Conservation Reserve Program are a way to address the lagging CRP enrollment. “We tried to envision on how we bring more people into this. We want to invigorate it with climate smart policies,” said Ducheneaux. “We are four million acres below our goal for 2021 and the cap will go up to 27 million acres by 2023, but we also have to account for three million acres will exit CRP in the next two years. How do we get people interested enough to enroll or re-enroll in the program?”
