One of the remaining issues in the North Dakota legislative session is rural infrastructure needs. North Dakota Farmers Union Government Relations Director Matt Perdue said those needs were included in the bonding bill until the very last moment. “We actually don’t know yet where township funding is going to show up, but we are confident and continuing to work hard stressing the need for additional funding for township infrastructure,” said Perdue. “We are trying to capture $38 million for infrastructure. We are a long ways from the finish line on this conversation. We’ll see how close we can get.” There’s not much time left in the session. Lawmakers are hoping to have the session wrapped up by Friday, April 23. “It will be an interesting week and a half, I’ll tell you that much.”
