As the White House prepares for its Leader’s Summit on Climate, climate will dominate the discussions in Washington D.C. The Senate will release an updated bipartisan version of the Growing Climate Solutions Act soon. Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow told Agri-Pulse funding issues are worked out; the legislation lays groundwork for agriculture carbon markets. North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer said agriculture will have an important seat at the table. “If we set aside what we believe about global warming and whose fault it is, people want a solution. Agriculture has a chance to participate. For example, if there’s a credit system to hold carbon.” Last week, House Agriculture Committee Republicans released five bills on climate.
