North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum declared a statewide drought disaster for North Dakota on Thursday. According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, more than 70 percent of North Dakota is in extreme drought. In the disaster declaration, Burgum ordered appropriate responses to be implemented to help with recovery and future mitigation efforts. Read more about an effort underway for agriculture.
