USDA’s March Quarterly Grain Stocks and Planting Intentions reports surprised the grain trade Wednesday with less than expected acres. Northern Crops Marketing and Investments President Brad Paulson says weather is going to be really important for this crop. “The ending stocks in the balance sheets get tight. We are in trouble in parts of the Northern Plains with the dryness. We got rain, but it was more of a Band-Aid.” The Northern Plains are already starting out with less-than-ideal conditions. “The forecast looks really dry after Easter. After the bullish report, all eyes are on the weather.”
