Minnesota has more E15 fueling sites than any other state in the nation. Chris Hanson, who is a member of the Minnesota Governor’s Biofuels Council, says efforts are underway to make E15 the base fuel for the state. “Right now, ten percent of all the fuel in Minnesota is ethanol,” said Hanson. “If we move to E15, we’re adding 52.8 million bushels of corn demand with that change.” Hanson manages the POET biorefining plant at Preston, Minnesota.
