The Georgia Ports Authority has approved projects that will increase annual capacity by 20 percent. With these improvements, the Port of Savannah’s annual capacity will expand beyond six million twenty-foot equivalent contain units. In 2020, the port handled 4.7millions TEUs of cargo.
