The Modernizing Agricultural Transportation Act has been reintroduced in the U.S. Senate. This bipartisan bill would reform Hours of Service and Electronic Logging Device regulations at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Specifically, the bill would establish a working group of transportation and agriculture representatives. Within 120 days of receiving the working group findings, the Transportation Secretary must then propose regulatory changes to HOS and ELD regulations. This bill follows efforts through the appropriations process to delay these regulations in fiscal years 2018-2021.
