The U.S. is imposing countervailing duties on phosphate fertilizer imports from Russia and Morocco for the next five years. The International Trade Commission ruled these imports have negatively impacted the U.S. market. Mosaic sought the investigation, saying the foreign subsidies are unfair. The American Soybean Association and National Corn Growers Association have warned these new duties will increase fertilizer prices and hurt crop production.
