South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke thinks COVID will be the top issue at the National Farmers Union Convention this week. “Basically, one year ago was when we started being impacted by COVID. The pandemic showed us the dire need in our concentration of food and food security of the nation. This will probably be discussed, but not much national policy has changed, because it’s a virtual event, This is one new issue at hand that may warrant a point of action.” Tuesday is all about policy consideration and adoption. There are 10 delegates from South Dakota participating this week.
