The Minnesota House Agriculture Committee continues to take a deeper dive into the proposed agriculture budget ahead of the February budget forecast. Chairman Mike Sundin is hopeful it will be good news. “In the next few weeks, we’ll have the February forecast.” Sundin says the committee will soon hear bills looking at the budget, industrial hemp and captive deer herds. “There are several deer farms in Minnesota that have inadequate protections for the wild deer herd. There’s disease that can spread and we’re looking to upgrade fencing and then, to scale back on the industry, looking at no new registrations for those farms.”
