Strong export sales for corn and soybeans have been a story for the markets. In monitoring shipment follow-through, Zaner Ag Hedge Chief Market Strategist Ted Seifried thinks the soybeans are keeping up well. “We are selling soybeans and shipping them almost immediately,” said Seifried. Corn is a different story. “We have a lot of outstanding sales to ship. To hit the USDA’s target by the end of the year, we’ll have to really get on the horse and start shipping corn in a much bigger way,” explained Seifried. “We need to average a record between here and the end of the marketing year each week. Will we do that? That’s the question for corn.” Photo credit: United Soybean Board
