A Lay-by Strategy Used to Control Resistant Weeds

Published February 4, 2021

After a beautiful fall and an open winter, growers are looking forward to planting season. Bayer Field Sales Rep David McGlynn says farmers are also prepared for crop fertility. “In the fall of 2020, guys had really good fall application where the past couple of springs there was a lot of pressure for the spring workload.” For sugarbeets, the Roundup PowerMax has been a standard. Due to resistance issues, McGlynn says lay-by products, like Warrant, will help late-emerging weeds. The lay-by strategy has become more commonplace. “It is all about resistance management to preserve the technology. The more modes of action, the less resistance there will be.”
