This group includes New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock and New Mexico Senator Ben Ray Lujan. Booker, who is a vegan, has the most extensive resume on agriculture issues. The bills introduced by Booker include proposals to end discrimination at USDA, implement a moratorium on agribusiness mergers and reform commodity checkoff programs. Warnock is an Atlanta pastor who won a high-profile runoff election against incumbent Kelly Loeffler. Lujan grew up in a small farming community and served in Congress before being elected to the U.S. Senate this past fall.
