In the first ten days of the 47-day South Dakota legislative session, there’s been a number of ag-related bills in the hopper. South Dakota Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says very few bills have seen any action yet. “The Senate Agriculture Committee last week reviewed a bill to extend the length of our general permit for confined animal feeding operations from the present five years to ten years. We’re following Minnesota’s lead, they did this five years ago.”
