The North Dakota Senate Appropriations Committee heard testimony from North Dakota State University President Dean Bresciani Wednesday morning. In opening remarks, President Bresciani highlighted the land grant university’s national ranks. “We’re one of the top 100 public research universities in the nation, and also do a phenomenal jobs with copyrights, royalties, licensing and trademarks.” One request from President Bresciani, along with several other groups, is funding for the Agricultural Products Development Center on campus. “Fundraising efforts are at $4.3 million and change. The conditions in Harris Hall are legendarily embarrassing right now.” The testimony concluded with the executive recommendation on behalf of NDSU, asking for no more additional cuts to be made.
