The North Dakota House and Senate Agriculture Committees heard testimony from various agricultural groups on Thursday, who outlined their priorities for the biennium and promotional activities. According to North Dakota Ethanol Council chair Jeff Zueger, the industry is pushing to lead the carbon economy in the state. Additionally, North Dakota Barley Council Executive Director Steve Edwardson talked about barley plant logistics, and North Dakota Corn Utilization Council chair Terry Wehlander discussed the availability of dried distillers grains. North Dakota is home to approximately 55 dairy farms. Although that number has declined in recent years, Gackle dairy farmer Sue Kleingartner, who chairs the North Dakota Dairy Promotion Council, remains optimistic about the industry.
