Cibus has announced its first field trials have confirmed the greenhouse results of a non-GMO trait that provides tolerance to white mold sclerotinia. This is considered an important step in Cibus’ plan to breed a resistant plant with its Rapid Trait Development System. The USDA recently ruled this trait are being regulated in the same manner as the traits developed using conventional breeding practices. With the successful field trials, CIBUS officials said there is a clear path to breeding a durable, resistant plant.
