A coalition of biofuel and agricultural trade groups has filed a legal brief, saying EPA’s improper waiver of 500 million gallons of biofuels in the 2016 renewable volume obligation needs to be addressed. In 2017, the court ruled agency needed to reconsider the 2016 RVO and restore the lost RIN gallons. The coalition, which includes Growth Energy, the Renewable Fuels Association, National Corn Growers Association and the National Farmers Union, emphasizes the EPA’s delay has been “unreasonable.”
