In an interview with U.S. Soybean Export Council CEO Jim Sutter, Cargill’s Ag Supply Chain Division Head Joe Stone said he expects an exciting 2021 for soybeans. “I don’t think we’ve hit the top for market prices yet, because of rationing. If the function of the market today is to continue to ration, then prices will likely move higher,” said Stone. “If the La Nina pattern continues and we get into late January and early February dry, the markets may take another step higher.” Stone is eager to see 2021 soybean production. “We’re fortunate we’ll see prices that help farmers be profitable, pay off debt and recapitalize. It’s been a choppy four to five years.” Sutter and Stone were part of a Soy-Suite webinar, presented by USSEC.
