In November, shipments of U.S. ag commodities and wind turbine components remained steady. Steel shipments also picked up pace before the year’s end. That’s according to the latest tonnage report from the Great Lakes Seaway Partnership. A total of 10.9 million metric ton of grain has been handled, which is a 23 percent increase. Even though total tonnage of 32 million is below last year’s levels, the number or vessels in the Great Lakes Seaway System is down only six percent from 2019, narrowing a 10 percent deficit reported this past May.
