The agriculture community has learned a lot of important lessons 2020. Now, the industry is shifting gears and looking ahead to 2021. That was the main message from Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Executive Director Karin Schaefer during the organization’s virtual annual meeting. Schaefer said everyone learned about what was important during a worldwide pandemic. “It’s like an ice cube. When COVID-19 hit that ice cube completely melted into a puddle of water. We couldn’t do the things we had always done.” As life tries to return to normal, Schaefer emphasized that farmers and ranchers can reshape what gets frozen into a new ice cube. “We have the ability to take things that are working and consider including what we’ve learned into programs and businesses.”
