Minnesota Soybean Growers Association Dicamba Task Force Chairman Bob Worth is hearing mixed feelings from farmers regarding the state dicamba decision, but Worth believes the Minnesota Department of Agriculture had its hands tied. “They couldn’t do the 24(c) label, what they’ve done in the past. The EPA wouldn’t allow them to do that. If they wanted to do it, they had to do a 24(a) label and that’s a lot of work. If they would have done that, we wouldn’t have had a ruling until April or May, too late for 2021.” If a farmer uses dicamba, Worth says record-keeping will need to be near perfect. The farmer is also hopeful the improved drift reducers will do their job. “It’s also important farmers follow the label.”
