With COVID-19 and social distancing, the seed industry adopted new ways to interact with customers. American Seed Trade Association President and CEO Andy LaVigne says technology helped fill the gap. “Most of the companies did some form of virtual field days and they all report that they reached a lot more of their customers or potential customers through that process,” said LaVigne. “I think there will be some sort of virtual with us for the foreseeable future.” While facing challenges, LaVigne says the seed industry has also found opportunities.
