The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, National Pork Producers Council and the North American Meat Institute are asking the government to prioritize COVID-19 vaccination for the people that work in the meat and poultry industry. The groups support the CDC recommendation the prioritizes health care workers and high-risk individuals. Meat industry workers are being promoted as another priority, to maintain food security.
