The Prairie Grains Conference will be held virtually this Thursday, December 10. Speakers in the line-up include NDAWN Director and Meteorologist Daryl Ritchison, American Farm Bureau Federation Chief Economist John Newton and Chief Ag Negotiator at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative Gregg Doud. Doud will be taking questions from meeting attendees. “We hope to hear from Doud that the markets currently in place for wheat will still be available for us and we hope to hear there may be new opportunities,” said Gary Anderson, president, Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers. “Quite a large portion of the crops we produce needs to be exported, we can’t use it all domestically. That will be a very important session.” There are also research reporting sessions for wheat and soybeans, along with breakout sessions focused on crop budgets, legislative updates and water management. Pre-registration for the conference is required.
