Speaking at the virtual Minnesota Canola Council’s Canola Symposium, University of Minnesota-Magnusson Research Farm Director Dave Grafstrom updated canola growers on the 2020 research projects. Grafstrom said excessive moisture made for a tough variety trial plot with abnormally high coefficient values, otherwise known as CVs. “The average yield was 801 pounds. We like to see a one in front of that and sometimes, a two. This year, we did not. The average CV was 33, very high. With a CV that high, it tells you there were struggles with the variety trials.”
