Congress is going to try and pass more COVID-19 relief before the end of the year. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said any deal reached on a new COVID relief package in a lame duck session would be added to a year-end omnibus spending bill. According to McConnell, it’s not acceptable to wait until next year to pass more federal relief. However, that means lawmakers would need to get something done quick. The deadline to pass a government funding bill is Friday, December 11.
