China’s been in the market for U.S. corn and soybeans the past few months, but demand may be starting to slow. CoBank Knowledge Exchange Division Manager and economist Tanner Ehmke says there are many things at play in this market demand story. South American weather remains a factor. “It’s a difficult situation with La Nina. Growing conditions aren’t looking great due to dryness in south Brazil, but also Argentina.” Currency strength also plays a part. “All of these factors come together to make a bullish scenario for the grain markets. We don’t see that changing much in 2021.”
