The Enbridge Line 3 pipeline project received permitting from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission and Army Corps of Engineers this past week. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is expected to issue its stormwater permits very soon. Line 3 Main Construction Director Barry Simonson says construction will being within a matter of days. “As part of the PUC process, we have sent notification letters to landowners and adjourning landowners and government officials notifying them of our intent to start on or around November 30.” The construction project is expected to be wrapped up in six-to-nine months. A total of 4,000 employees will be working in northwest Minnesota on this effort. Simonson says specialized equipment in place for use in the winter months to restore agricultural land to its original condition.
