NFU Wants More Trade Stability in New Year

Published November 23, 2020

National Farmers Union President Rob Larew says the organization is looking for more stability from the leadership in the Biden administration. “That’s hopefully a theme we’ll see in the trade agreement arena where we hear President-elect Biden’s approach on trade will be aggressive for bad actors like China, but more stable in working with allies out there. Growing markets is a benefit for our growers.” Larew says it’s important to not rely on government payments to keep farm income high. “There’s so much uncertainty out there, farmers are due for not only strong markets, but stable ones as well.” Larew was part of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting annual meeting and the Minnesota Farmers Union annual meeting last week.
