During the virtual Minnesota Farmers Union Convention, Governor Tim Walz said there are many things going on at the state level, from working on climate change and the role of biofuels to focusing on the next budget. The COVID-19 pandemic is causing uncertainty with the state budget and it will be a challenge, but Walz said Minnesota put away a lot of money for a rainy day. “Revenues are up $802 million from the May projection. The state is going to move forward into those conversations.” Minnesota’s budget forecast will be released the first week of December and those numbers will have an impact on the governor’s proposal for balancing the budget.
