The Risk Management Agency’s Enhanced Coverage Option will be available to more than 30 spring-planted crops next year and more crops may be eligible in 2022. The ECO provides area-based coverage for a portion of the deductible for the federal crop insurance policy. It uses the same expected and final area yields, harvest prices and payment factors as the Supplemental Coverage Option. However, SCO coverage ends at 86 percent of the expected crop value and the ECO covers up to 90 or 95 percent. The ECO must be purchased as endorsement to a revenue policies.
